Welcome to our website

Ysgol Santes Helen has been serving the children of Twtil and the surrounding areas of Caernarfon since 1891. We are a unique school because we are a Catholic school that teaches mainly through the medium of Welsh. We cater for Catholic children many of whom have moved to the area from around the world! That said we welcome children of all cultural and religious backgrounds and pride ourselves on the diversity of our small school. We believe that this creates tolerant citizens for the future. Because we are a relatively small school in terms of numbers we can offer a village school atmosphere within the town.

Ysgol Santes Helen is a Voluntary Aided Catholic Primary School. The school is fully maintained by the Local Education Authority, Gwynedd Council in accordance with the Education Act of 1944. We provide education for children from Nursery age up to eleven and we accept non-Catholic children as well as children with Catholic parents.
